and Mala, Mantra and meditation workshop

Treat yourself to this restorative, creative, and healing virtual retreat. Join us for an evening plus a full day of from the comfort of your own home, maybe an Airbnb, or even or a trailer (yours or a friend's.) Carve out some time and space to immerse in this retreat, free from lists, chores and other demands on your time.
We will practice Yoga Nidra, Gentle movement and Restorative yoga, plus a fabulous workshop making your own Mala. Yogi Karen will lead you through the making and meaning of mala beads. She'll guide us through meditation with mantra as we use our malas to calm our minds and bodies.
Schedule:
730-9:00 Friday evening: Opening circle and Yoga Nidra
9:00-11:30 Saturday: Gentle and Restorative Yoga with mindfulness.
11:30-1:00: Lunch, time to journal or maybe take a mindful walk.
1:00-3:00: Mala making workshop with mantra and meditation.
Short break
3:15 - 4:30: Yoga Nidra and closing circle.
Cost (including mala supplies): $119

Japa Mala is the practice of repeating mantras during meditation practice, using a mala bead necklace to count the repetitions. Mantras have been used throughout the centuries and it’s believed that the sacred power of the words and the accompanying sounds in mantra aid in spiritual progression and to effect healing in the physical and energetic bodies.
We use the mala beads to keep track of how many repetitions we have chanted, and also as a tactile tool to stay present in the body during mindfulness practice. The mantras themselves can attract a particular deity’s energy, and the beads become imbued with the energy of the mantra being chanted. The mala can also attract or remove different energies, depending on what beads the mala is created from.
In this workshop you will create your very own unique Mala necklace from traditional rudraksha seeds and select semi precious stones. You will learn about malas, and mantras, and then use your new mala in a Japa mala practice.
All Mala supplies included. No meditation experience necessary
